I was a I.T guy for slightly more than a decade. As a software Project Manager in reputed companies (Satyam and Mphasis - acquired by HP) I enjoyed huge respect, excellent working conditions - and of course - a fat pay check.
Therefore, when I decided to quit IT - to start doing something of my own - it was a shock to many people known to me. Until now - I had not explained my reasons for quitting,
During the course of a long decade which passed in a very short while - I realized that i was nothing but a coolie for western interests. My talents and knowledge were used to enrich a foreign nation and not my country. I realized that i was literally blind to the society around me. I was out of touch with my own people. Looking at a broader picture, I saw that all the policies of the government were aimed at enriching foreign countries. What i saw was a country filled with cheap but educated labour force - at the beck and call of foreign companies. I saw slaves who were ready to do anything to please their western masters (ready to work at odd hours - ready to work on holidays - ready to work even on festival days - ready to give up spending time with one's own children - ready to give up their culture - ready to get transferred anywhere on the globe (oh its called onsite opportunity!!!) - ready to forget all relatives and loved ones) I woke up to this debased state of existence and saw that i had been brainwashed into believing that these things were excellent. I saw that i was cast under a spell - to believe that alienation and adoration of the west the best option for me. And slowly i saw what was really happening - this country was being turned into a nation of coolies.
During the freedom struggle - we wanted the westerners to get out and we wanted to be our own masters. But, in the disguise of globalisation - we are still slaves and coolies. We have the best IT talent in the country but with all this talent, we still do not have a world class IT product (even though most of the world class products are designed and created by Indians). All the leading IT companies are nothing but body-shoppers who provide cheap labour to foreign companies. All this impoverishes our nation. People get quality education at subsidized rates in IITs and IIMs and the aspiration of 99% of such people is to become a coolie in a foreign company!!!! If all the educated people go and work for the benefit of foreign nations - who will work for the growth of OUR nation?
Today we even have a policy "MAKE IN INDIA"!!!! There is a world of difference between "make in India" and "Made in India".
"Made in India" denotes a economy that is fuelled by Indians and the profits enrich our nation!!!
"Make in India" denotes a coolie economy fuelled by foreigners and the profits go to foreigners!!!
That is why I quit IT industry - i wanted to be FREE. I wanted my talents (limited they might be) to be of use to this country. A country that has a heritage that is richer and older than any other nation on earth. A country that was a shining light to all other nations on earth. A country that has produced literature like the vedas that is unmatched in the entire world. A country that has produced complete medical systems like Siddha and Ayurveda. A country that has produced enormous temples that has withstood the vagaries of nature over thousands of years.(Eiffel Tower is seen as a wonder - but come and visit Tanjore temple built 1200 years ago - and marvel the architectural skills of our forefathers who built it with stones alone - without using any joining material like cement or steel). A country which reached pinnacles of spirituality and showed the way to experience God. A country which defined cellular structure thousands of years before a microscope was ever invented. A country that capture the universe as nine planets even before anyone invented rocket or space travel.
Today I am into healing. I am able to bring happiness into people's lives when they get cured of their diseases. I find immense satisfaction in seeing people go out of my little clinic with a smile on their face.
